In recent years multiple studies have proved the existence of an interaction between number processing and hand action in the reaching and grasping movements. Neuropsychology highlighted the role of the parietal lobe in both those functions. Number and hand movement deficits (e.g. respectively, acalculia and apraxia) in fact often co-occur following parietal cortex lesion. However, literature in this field presents many controversial data about where and how the number-action associations occur. It's also controversial about the existing differences between left and right parietal lesions. Therefore the main research question is: how does parietal damage impact the interaction between number processing and the hand action of grasping? The present study aims at answering this question by testing left and right parietal lesion patients, whose task was to grasp and change the position of a cube with a digit printed on it. The digit could either be small (e.g. 2) or large (e.g. 8). The subjects then had to indicate whether the digit was smaller or larger than 5. Preliminary behavioural and kinematic of movement results revealed a magnitude effect (small and large numbers) on grasping movement (smaller and larger finger aperture). This was found only in right brain damaged patients. From the data we can conclude that the link between numerical magnitude and hand action is located in the parietal lobe and that the right and left hemispheres differently contribute to number processing. While these conclusion need to be extended, this study represents the first starting point for the investigation of number-grasping interactions following brain damage.

Abstract
This was found only in right brain damaged patients. From the data we can conclude that the link between numerical magnitude and hand action is located in the parietal lobe and that the right and left hemispheres differently contribute to number processing.
