Today, digitalization permeates every aspect of an individual’s daily life — social, educational, recreational, and occupational. Technological development is moving in one direction: toward improving the accessibility and usability of digital spaces designed to host the users of such platforms. For a more accurate optimization of the usability of these technologies, it is essential to take into account the well-being perceived by the user operating within them, who may often present needs specific to their person. This thesis addresses precisely this aspect — how, and to what extent, studies on the development of technologies for accessing shared digital environments intended for work-related activities take into account the minority of workers affected by disability. Through a research process conducted across databases such as ACM DL and Scopus, I selected publications by applying inclusion criteria that allowed me to draw information not only on the current state of technological development, but also on the degree of attention paid to the topic of inclusion. The results outline a relative academic and industrial interest toward the development of adaptive and customizable interfaces in augmented reality, as well as solutions oriented toward functional diversity in cooperative digital environments. Some difficulties in the process of developing inclusive access technologies are evident, and the body of study and research in this field is strongly skewed toward school education and support for non-self-sufficient elderly individuals; undoubtedly, greater investment is required so that inequalities can be increasingly smoothed out in work environments as well.

Abstract
Some difficulties in the process of developing inclusive access technologies are evident, and the body of study and research in this field is strongly skewed toward school education and support for non-self-sufficient elderly individuals; undoubtedly, greater investment is required so that inequalities can be increasingly smoothed out in work environments as well.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
