Associazione tra il Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI) e l'autostima: Una revisione della letteratura in relazione alla validità dello strumento.

The present study aims to examine the validity of the Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI), specifically its association with the construct of self-esteem. Therefore, it first presents an overview of the construct of narcissism, including its multiple dimensions, as well as the construct of self-esteem, and discusses the theoretical relationship between the two. Subsequently, through a review of the literature, the study evaluates the validity of the NPI by examining whether the findings of previous research support the theoretical assumptions underlying the instrument.

Il presente studio è volto ad analizzare la validità dell’ NPI (Narcissistic Personality Inventory), quindi la sua associazione con il costrutto dell’autostima. Vengono, difatti, prima spiegati sia il costrutto del narcisismo, nelle sue molteplici dimensioni, sia il costrutto dell’autostima, sia il rapporto che sussiste tra i due dal punto di vista teorico. Successivamente, attraverso una revisione della letteratura, si valuta la validità dello strumento, quindi se i risultati degli studi confermano o meno le ipotesi teoriche.
