The following thesis analyzes the application of game theory and behavioural economics inside procurement tenders, taking inspiration from the experience gathered during the internship at Service Key Group. The objective is to understand how competitive mechanisms and decisional processes can influence the choice of the bid discount, contractor and contracting authority side. First, the thesis analyzes the functioning of procurement tenders based on the Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT) award criterion, with particular reference to the determination of the economic score. Subsequently, through a simplified Game Theory model, the decision-making process of firms in choosing the bid discount to offer under conditions of imperfect information. Overall, the analysis highlights how the outcome of a tender may depend not only on the characteristics of the individual bids and the strategies of the competitors, but also on the strategic interaction and the overall structure of the alternatives submitted to the contracting authority.
