This study aims to analyze the role of emotional education in the first three years of life, focusing on the importance of illustrated children's books. The first chapter will analyze the concept of emotion from a psychological and scientific perspective. It will explain the difference between primary and secondary emotions, and why "naming them" is essential as a first step toward understanding them. The second chapter will examine the developmental stages of emotional growth, exploring in depth the role of the adult as a regulator and container of emotional flows. Finally, the third chapter will focus on the importance of picture books in this age group, analyzing three texts ("Che rabbia!", "Facciamo le facce", and "I colori delle emozioni") to demonstrate how stories and images practically help children recognize and manage their emotions. In conclusion, this work aims to show how early emotional education, supported by the use of illustrated books, is fundamental for a child's growth and relational well-being.
