The main goal of this thesis consists in the preliminary analysis of the thermo-physical features of the Rendena Valley aimed at obtaining an indication of its geo-thermal potential. The basic and preliminary constants for adequate dimensioning of a geo-thermal system are the thermal conductivity values of rocks and sediments, the air temperature and the thermal and chemical properties of ground and surface waters. The implemented analysis, hinged on the study of the thermal structure of the natural matrix, has been set in the local geological environment. For this reason 26 samples of different rocks and sediments were collected from the area and underwent laboratory analysis. Some of the samples have been cut thin sections and underwent modal analysis of the present mineralogical phases for the evaluation of the contributions of those to the thermal properties, and in order to obtain further information about the potential influence of non-isotropic structures. As to the waters, the analysis focused on their hydro-geochemical features and on the thermal aspect of the local water springs, in order to verify their potential use and organize further hydro-thermal researches. The determination of the average annual thermal distribution in the area, which is considered to be a fundamental constant for the definition of the temperatures of the underground, was evaluated using facilitated formulas, which can be compared, on a quality level, to the results obtained using other means of evaluations. The creation of thematic thermal maps, in addition to be a very useful digital-format support even for local authorities, allows, on a planning level, the availability of a essential instrument for the feasibility analysis of thermal-exchange-systems duly designed for the conditioning of the buildings.

Abstract
The creation of thematic thermal maps, in addition to be a very useful digital-format support even for local authorities, allows, on a planning level, the availability of a essential instrument for the feasibility analysis of thermal-exchange-systems duly designed for the conditioning of the buildings.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
