From Late Triassic onward, the Southern Alps underwent two important tectonic events. The first is the Norian-Liassic extension, which led to the fragmentation of Dolomia Principale platform into high and low paleostructural domains , controlled by N-S normal faults . On the high domains and, in particular, on the Trento Platform one the Calcari Grigi group deposited during the extensional event as shown by several synsedimentary evidences recorded on most of the Group formations. The second tectonic event is the alpine compression, which occurred during Neogene. This event have led to the formation of sudvergent Thrusts and strike-slip reactivation of the Liassic normal faults. In The Monte Cornello, which is the main object of this study, is well recorded the whole structural evolution of the Southern Alps. Through the realization of a geological map in 1:10000 scale and a 3D model , obtained also with the help of photogrammetric techniques, a structural analysis of the Monte Cornello faults was carried out. This has allowed us to establish the evolution of the deformation in the area during the giurassic extension as well as during the Alpine compression.
