This paper aims to promote the inclusion and well-being of people with disabilities through Danceability, which is a not very well known expressive-bodily practice. Danceability’s goal is to be an effective support for people with disabilities as well as for all people. It is a dance accessible to all, which allows everyone to develop their creativity, without excluding anyone. You don't need to be a dancer in order to take part to a lesson, but everyone can participate: theelderly, blind people, people with motor disabilities, people with Down syndrome, people with medium / mild intellectual disabilities, autistic children; everyone can do that. Considering that we all have limitations, incapacities, weaknesses and fears and so no one is completely perfect, everyone’s strengths and limitations can become special sources of growth and enrichment. Anoter Danceability's goal is to foster authentic relationships and to promote the social and cultural inclusion of people with disabilities. Danceability also try to help explore and eradicate misconceptions and prejudices between people with and without disabilities and thus cultivate cultural and artistic diversity through performance, communication and education. For the preparation of this thesis I used both the literature as well as the testimony of a dancer, Ivan Cottini, and my personal experience.
Questo elaborato ha come obiettivo quello di promuovere l’inclusione e il benessere delle persone con disabilità tramite la Danceability, una pratica espressivo-corporea, non molto conosciuta, ma che riesce ad essere un efficace sostegno e aiuto per le persone con disabilità e in ugual modo per tutte le persone. È una tecnica di danza e di studio del movimento accessibile a tutti, che permette a chiunque di sviluppare la propria creatività senza escludere nessuno. Per partecipare ad una lezione non bisogna essere ballerini, ma chiunque può partecipare: anziani, non vedenti, persone con handicap motorio, persone con sindrome di Down, persone con disabilità intellettiva media/lieve, ragazzi autistici, ecc. In fondo, anche le persone cosiddette “abili” possiedono limiti, incapacità, debolezze e paure. Nessuno è completamente perfetto, proprio le forze e i limiti di ciascuno possono diventare delle speciali sorgenti di crescita ed arricchimento per la vita. Tra gli obiettivi della Danceability c’è quello di favorire relazioni autentiche tra tutte le persone e di promuovere la partecipazione sociale e culturale delle persone con disabilità. Con la Danceability si cerca inoltre di aiutare a esplorare e sradicare idee sbagliate e pregiudizi tra persone con e senza disabilità e coltivare quindi la diversità culturale e artistica attraverso la performance, la comunicazione e l'educazione. Per la stesura di questa tesi mi sono servita della letteratura, della testimonianza di un professionista Ivan Cottini e della mia esperienza personale.
