Esperienze traumatiche in età evolutiva: efficacia della Terapia dell'Esposizione Narrativa per bambini e adolescenti (KIDNET)

The interest in the rights of children and adolescents, and in the post-traumatic consequences of adverse childhood experiences has been increasing in the last few years. The first introductory chapter of this review will clarify the use and meaning of terms like trauma, maltreatment and adverse childhood experiences, while providing an overview of their prevalence among young people. A specific section will summarize the main findings related to the impact of post-traumatic stress symptoms on young survivors’ narratives. The second chapter will then focus on Narrative Exposure Therapy for children and adolescents (KidNET), describing the treatment procedure and specifically discussing its efficacy compared to other treatments. The social and political importance of KidNET will also be considered.

L’attenzione ai diritti dei minori e l’interesse per le ricadute traumatiche delle esperienze sfavorevoli infantili è piuttosto recente, seppur in notevole sviluppo. Nella sua parte introduttiva, la seguente analisi bibliografica si propone di fornire chiarezza terminologica rispetto a traumi, maltrattamenti ed esperienze sfavorevoli infantili, presentando al contempo una fotografia della portata del fenomeno; vengono analizzate anche le ricadute del disturbo post-traumatico da stress nelle narrazioni dei giovani sopravvissuti. Uno spazio centrale è dedicato, quindi, alla Terapia dell’Esposizione Narrativa per bambini e adolescenti (KidNET), di cui si analizzano il razionale, l’impegno socio-politico e in particolare l’efficacia, anche comparativa.
