Proposta di traduzione e considerazioni sullo studio della narrativa di filiazione e identità brasiliana

The present elaboration is proposed as a research and in-depth study on the theme of immigration and identity in the literary field of filiation fiction, focusing not simply on written texts of a narrative nature, but above all on Brazilian theoretical texts. After a brief introduction of terms relating to filiation fiction and immigration, we first move on to the socio-cultural contextualisation by examining the two chosen reference countries (Italy and Brazil), and then to the explanation of the translation process employed in the thesis. The translation proposal analyses theoretical texts concerning five Brazilian authors of different origins: Zélia Gattai, Júlian Fuks, Leila Danziger, Moacyr Scliar and Milton Hatoum. These authors deal with the theme and the effects of immigration in their own family experience, as in the case of Gattai and Fuks, or in a verisimilar fictional context, as in the other texts, in order to bring their own opinion and experience into the story told. As a result, one can see how the differences between the experiences and feelings of us readers and those of the protagonists of the various stories are subtle, making us in fact not very different from the immigrants we are used to encountering in everyday life or in news reports. In fact, the main objective of this work is to raise the reader's awareness, leading them to re-evaluate their idea and view of immigrants and immigration itself.

La presente elaborazione si propone come una ricerca e approfondimento sulla tematica dell'immigrazione e identità nel campo letterario della narrativa di filiazione, ponendo l'attenzione non semplicemente ai testi scritti di carattere narrativo, ma soprattutto ai testi teorici brasiliani. Dopo una breve introduzione dei termini relativi alla narrativa di filiazione e all’immigrazione si passa prima alla contestualizzazione socioculturale prendendo in esame i due paesi di riferimento scelti (l’Italia e il Brasile), e in seguito alla spiegazione del processo traduttivo impiegato nella tesi. La proposta di traduzione analizza i testi teorici riguardanti cinque autori brasiliani di origini differenti: Zélia Gattai, Júlian Fuks, Leila Danziger, Moacyr Scliar e Milton Hatoum. I presenti autori trattano il tema e gli effetti dell’immigrazione nel proprio vissuto familiare, come nel caso della Gattai e di Fuks, o in un contesto verosimile di fantasia, come invece negli altri testi, in modo da portare la propria opinione e la propria esperienza nella storia raccontata. Come risultato si può notare quanto le differenze tra le esperienze e i sentimenti di noi lettori e quelli dei protagonisti dei vari racconti siano sottili, rendendoci di fatto non molto diversi dagli immigrati che siamo soliti incontrare nella vita quotidiana o nelle cronache giornalistiche. Questo elaborato, infatti, come obiettivo principale si propone di sensibilizzare il lettore portandolo a rivalutare l’idea e la visione che quest’ultimo ha dell’immigrato e dell’immigrazione in sé.
