Isolitudini. L'immagine dell'isola nelle opere di Elsa Morante e Georges Perec

This thesis examines the symbolic values related to islands in literature, highlighting the metamorphoses undergone by this image throughout the history, as well as its intrinsic ambiguity. In order to underline the affinities between the topos of the island and the utopian (and dystopian) theme, the analysis delves into two works, in which the polysemy of each insular microcosm comes to light: L'isola di Arturo by Elsa Morante and W ou le souvenir d'enfance by Georges Perec.

Questa tesi prende in esame i valori simbolici assunti dalle isole nella letteratura, mettendo in luce tanto le metamorfosi subite da questa immagine nel corso della tradizione, quanto la sua ambiguità intrinseca. Per sottolineare le convergenze tra il topos dell'isola e la tematica utopica (e distopica), si approfondiscono due opere, nelle quali emerge la polisemia di ogni microcosmo insulare: L'isola di Arturo di Elsa Morante e W ou le souvenir d'enfance di Georges Perec.
