In modern agriculture we are witnessing an extensive production method in favor of monoculture. This structure leads increasingly to an imbalance of the agroecosystem, encouraging the establishment of pathogens, the development of diseases and the introduction of other stress factors. In recent years, biological control as an alternative strategy for the containment and regulation of pathogens has increased significantly due to the awareness of the many risks associated with the use of chemicals, whose effectiveness has also been reduced due to the emergence of resistant strains in the population of pathogens. The aim of this work was to test the use of a new resistant strain of Macrolophus pygmaeus selected from the Dutch Koppert site and to verify its efficacy in the lowlands of the Lombardy region. This experimentation took place at the S. Maurizio farm in the village of Merlino (LO). In particular, the aim was to verify the ability of biocontrol on processing tomatoes in protected culture against aleurodes (Trialeurodes vaporariorum, Bemisia tabaci). This efficacy was then compared to the use of another natural antagonist of the same pathogens: Nesidocoris tenuis, which was inoculated in other greenhouses of the same company in order to make a comparison.

Abstract
This efficacy was then compared to the use of another natural antagonist of the same pathogens: Nesidocoris tenuis, which was inoculated in other greenhouses of the same company in order to make a comparison.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
