The aim of the following thesis is to investigate how moral framing (i.e. framing based on the moral foundations of the Theory of Moral Foundations) implicitly and explicitly influences the perception of socioeconomic inequalities when based on the moral foundations that are dear to one political camp or the other. In order to confirm the hypothesis that a message based on the moral foundations favoured by liberals made them perceive the issue of socioeconomic inequalities as more salient and that a message based on the moral foundations favoured by conservatives did the same for them, a study was created in which moral framing was presented in the form of a message at the end of a video that explored socioeconomic inequality, followed by participants being asked to answer explicit questions about perceived economic inequality and to complete an implicit measurement task (VAAST) in which the stimuli were images of the same issue. The results showed that exposure to one message or another (as opposed to the control condition) had an implicit influence on the participants.

Abstract
The results showed that exposure to one message or another (as opposed to the control condition) had an implicit influence on the participants.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
