This paper investigates the existing relation between the climatic emergency and its psychological consequences, analyzing the impact of climate anxiety on young generations. A technical definition of the current climate change is given at the beginning. In order to comprehend the connection between us and the surrounding environment, a brief analysis is done to the role of environmental psychology and its fundamental ecological theories. Particular attention is given to the new forms of mental stress, which seem to afflict especially the young generations (Hickman et al. 2021). Some hypothesis are given about the possible causes of the existing generational gap between adolescents, who very much care about the environmental issue, and the adult counterpart, which does not seem to be involved in it. Lastly, the paper presents some examples of climate change opposition, such as Rachel Carson, the Club of Rome and the two biggest environmental movements Fridays for Future and Extinction Rebellion.

Abstract
Lastly, the paper presents some examples of climate change opposition, such as Rachel Carson, the Club of Rome and the two biggest environmental movements Fridays for Future and Extinction Rebellion.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
