L’ASSOCIAZIONE TRA USO PROBLEMATICO DELLO SMARTPHONE E LA MOTIVAZIONE EDONICA IN UN CAMPIONE DI STUDENTI UNIVERSITARI

In search of the research present in the literature, this thesis work aims to investigate the associations existing between the factors relating to the "problematic use of smartphones" (PSU) and hedonic motivation in university students. It has been hypothesized that the hedonic motivation correlates with the dimensions of problematic smartphone use and that these correlations are strong in university students enrolled in a three-year degree course and students enrolled in an annual master's degree course. The data for this research were collected through an online survey and subsequently analyzed through the SPSS software for statistical analysis. To guide the variable data of interest we have the following evaluation tools: socio-demographic for the participant's degree class, the SPAI-Italian for the size of excessive smartphone use (Pavia et al., 2016) and the Smartphone USA motivation for hedonic motivation (Meng et al., 2020). The results obtained indicated that the hedonic use of the smartphone (the use of the smartphone oriented to entertainment) was associated with the PSU in both the Bachelor's and Master's students, but there does not seem to be any significant differences between the two degree programs. a fairytale association respect.

Alla luce delle ricerche presenti in letteratura, questo elaborato di tesi si propone di approfondire le associazioni esistenti tra i fattori relativi all’ “uso problematico dello smartphone” (PSU) e la motivazione edonica negli studenti universitari. Si è ipotizzato che la motivazione edonica correli positivamente con le dimensioni dell’uso problematico dello smartphone e che tali correlazioni siano più forti negli studenti universitari iscritti ad un corso di laurea triennale rispetto agli studenti iscritti ad un corso di laurea magistrale. I dati per la presente ricerca sono stati raccolti mediante una survey online e successivamente, analizzati attraverso il software SPSS per le analisi statistiche. Per la rilevazione delle variabili di interesse abbiamo utilizzato i seguenti strumenti di valutazione: i dati sociodemografici per la classe di laurea del partecipante, la SPAI-Italian per le dimensioni dell’uso eccessivo dello smartphone (Pavia et al., 2016) e la Smartphone Use Motivation per la motivazione edonica (Meng et al., 2020). I risultati ottenuti hanno indicato che l'uso edonico dello smartphone (l’uso dello smartphone orientato all’intrattenimento) era associato allo PSU sia negli studenti della triennale che in quelli della magistrale, ma non sembrano esserci differenze significative tra i due corsi di laurea rispetto a tale associazione.
