Humans have always tried to discover how music can evoque emotions. Even though these two elements are so different, music and emotions have a strong bond: without emotions we could not create musical pieces and without emotions’ experiences we would not continue to listen to music. Actual debates want to respond to many questions about music and its connection with emotions: which emotions does music arouse? How can music create emotional reactions? By analyzing the present literature, this dissertation will focus on distinction between perception of emotions conveyed by music and the arousal of emotions provoked by a musical piece. Many findings about which emotions are expressed through music and how they are percieved will be explored. Finally, there will be an evaluation of compositional structural factors, also focusing on sound’s timbre, and an exploration of expressive factors used by the performer while playing a piece of music: which expressive characteristics a musician can use, how these elements can express different emotions and how the movement of the musician in the performance can play a facilitating role in conveying musical emotions.
Come riesce a creare reazioni emotive?

Abstract
Finally, there will be an evaluation of compositional structural factors, also focusing on sound’s timbre, and an exploration of expressive factors used by the performer while playing a piece of music: which expressive characteristics a musician can use, how these elements can express different emotions and how the movement of the musician in the performance can play a facilitating role in conveying musical emotions.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
