With my final dissertation, I intend to explore the theory-into-practice translation process, analysing the main challenges encountered when dealing with specialised texts. Focusing my task on medical, legal, and business translation, it is my intention to translate one specialised source text of Irish-English origin into Italian for each field, using the translation strategies which will be discussed in the First Chapter. In addition to these techniques, I will be using three separate self-built corpora made up of Italian texts dealing with the same topic from the same genre perspective. As the world we live in is highly globalised, partly thanks to translation itself, translators should be prepared to face translation tasks dealing with current affairs and events. Each source text will thus be dealing with Covid-19 from a medical, legal, and economic perspective, for this has been one of the most debated topics in the last two years and represented an ideal common denominator able to link the three different specialised translation areas I decided to investigate.

Abstract
Each source text will thus be dealing with Covid-19 from a medical, legal, and economic perspective, for this has been one of the most debated topics in the last two years and represented an ideal common denominator able to link the three different specialised translation areas I decided to investigate.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
