This paper recounts a first interdisciplinary didactic experiment between Geography and Media Education, which took place at the University of Padua, and whose objectives were to develop a sense of belonging and transform what was only a space into a place of one's own to be cared for. The project involved Prof. Rocca and Prof. Piva, over 150 students, future teachers, from the fourth year of the Primary Education Sciences degree course, sea professionals, professors and researchers from the University of Milan Bicocca, experts and tutors, in an interdisciplinary course entitled "A-MARE. Placed Based Education for Ocean Literacy'. The course focused on themes such as ocean education, ocean citizenship, understanding the sea and its resources, and developing a sense of responsibility, protection and care. UNESCO, through the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) and the education sector, identifies Ocean Literacy as a tool to promote the sustainable development of the sea and its resources. The essential principles of Ocean Literacy were explored through the creation of a short film, with which students narrated their own 'navy of the heart' and which helped, by exploring physical and virtual places, to develop a sense of place.
Il presente elaborato racconta di una prima sperimentazione didattica interdisciplinare tra Geografia e Media Education, svoltasi all'Università di Padova, che ha avuto come obiettivi quelli di sviluppare un senso di appartenenza e trasformare quello che era solo uno spazio in un luogo proprio di cui avere cura. Il progetto ha visto impegnati la Prof.ssa Rocca e il Prof. Piva, oltre 150 studenti, futuri insegnanti, del quarto anno del corso di laurea in Scienze della Formazione Primaria, professionisti del mare, professori e ricercatori dell'Università di Milano Bicocca, esperti e tutor, in un percorso interdisciplinare dal titolo "A-MARE. Placed Based Education for Ocean Literacy". Il percorso ha posto al centro temi quali l'educazione all'oceano, la cittadinanza oceanica, la comprensione del mare e delle sue risorse, lo sviluppo del senso di responsabilità, protezione e cura. L'UNESCO, infatti, tramite la Commissione Oceanografica Intergovernativa (COI) e il settore dell'educazione, identifica l'Ocean Literacy come strumento di promozione dello sviluppo sostenibile del mare e delle sue risorse. I principi essenziali dell'Ocean Literacy sono stati esplorati attraverso la creazione di un cortometraggio, con cui gli studenti hanno narrato la propria "marina del cuore" e che ha contribuito, esplorando luoghi fisici, in aula e sul campo, e virtuali, a sviluppare senso del luogo.
