Low Back Pain is a painful condition from which more than 80% of the world's population suffers at least once in their lifetime. Thirty per cent of those who experience low back pain may develop a chronic condition. The aim of this thesis is to provide an overview of the mechanisms of pain, in particular chronic pain, according to recent findings in the field and to investigate which, according to the literature, are the best management strategies for chronic low back pain.
Il Low Back Pain è una condizione dolorosa di cui oltre l'80% della popolazione mondiale soffre almeno una volta nella vita. Il 30% di chi sperimenta mal di schiena può sviluppare una condizione cronica. L’obiettivo della tesi è quello fornire una panoramica sui meccanismi del dolore, in particolare di quello cronico, secondo le recenti acquisizioni in materia e di indagare quali sono, secondo la letteratura, le migliori strategie di gestione del chronic low back pain.
