Objectives: In this thesis we want to analyse the management of children with psychomotor retardation in the 0-3 year age group. The aim of the study is to support the growth of these children through parental counselling and rehabilitation treatment, and to verify its effectiveness through discussion with the family and observation over time of the evolution of their motor (and non-motor) skills. Methods: This is a literature search carried out through PubMed and further supported by the observation and data collection of four different clinical cases aged between 0 and 3 years, all sharing a delay in the acquisition of motor, cognitive and affective-relational skills. The cases were selected at the Colli Socio-Sanitary Complex in Padua and were all assessed at the beginning of my placement (T0) and at the end (T1), after the therapeutic intervention. The motor skills were assessed by means of the form designed by Dr. Fedrizzi, while the cognitive and affective-relational ones by means of the observation of the elements reported in the description of development according to the Brazelton perspective. Conclusions: From the motor point of view, I was able to observe an improvement in all four clinical cases, although some (S. D., C. M. and T. V.) more than others (L. C.). As for cognitive and affective-relational skills, during the time of my training there was no clear improvement, despite the treatment and counselling carried out, so much so that two of the clinical cases (S. D. and L. C.) were referred for specific psychomotor treatment. Participating in the treatments, I was also able to grasp the importance of the parents' role and of counselling, since it was often the parents themselves, already at the beginning of the session, who updated the therapist on the child's progress, thus allowing immediate verification of the effectiveness of the therapeutic intervention and of the indications given.
