The study aims to investigate the well-being of siblings with a disabled brother or sister by looking at their attitudes and the level of emotional distress throughout adolescence, comparing their experience with the one of their peers with non-disabled siblings. The study also analyses the experience of the parents, the representations of their typically developing children and the family dynamics taking place in the household compared to the ones of families without disability. Self-report questionnaires were distributed online to parents and teenagers between 11 and 18 years old. The control group was created by matching teenagers with the same age, birth order and gender of the control group.
