Antonio Buttafuoco e l'Oratorio di Villa Bassi Rathgeb

In the thesis I will talk initially about Villa Bassi Rathgeb in the second half of the eighteenth century, during the transition from the Secco family to Dondi Orologio , when the stucco replaces the frescoes and the main body of the villa is enlarged. I will then focus on the description of the Oratory, built at that time and dedicated to Santa Maria di Loreto. The interior has similarities to the Sanctuary of the Holy House of Loreto and is frescoed by Antonio Buttafuoco, a painter from Verona. Finally I will focus on the Sanctuary of the Holy House.

Nella tesi parlerò inizialmente di Villa Bassi Rathgeb nella seconda metà del Settecento, durante il passaggio dalla famiglia Secco ai Dondi Orologio , quando lo stucco sostituisce gli affreschi e il corpo padronale della villa viene ampliato. Mi concentrerò poi sulla descrizione dell’Oratorio, edificato in quel momento e dedicato a Santa Maria di Loreto. L’interno presenta similitudini rispetto al Santuario della Santa Casa di Loreto e viene affrescato da Antonio Buttafuoco, un pittore veronese. Infine mi concentrerò sul Santuario della Santa Casa.
