How business intelligence can support the board of directors in the decision making process.

The business environment (climate) is continuously changing and becoming more complicated. Both public and commercial organizations are under pressure to adapt quickly to the changing environment and be innovative in how they conduct business. Such activities demand that businesses be agile and make frequent, rapid, and often extremely complex strategic, tactical, and operational choices. To make these kinds of decisions, you might need a significant amount of relevant data, information, and knowledge. To gain insight and make the necessary decisions, these data must be processed quickly, often in real time, and with some degree of electronic assistance. Nowadays, business intelligence, or in abbreviation "BI", is available to assist and help organizations achieve this objective. In this thesis, we study and analyze what should be done to have an effective BI system to help organizations and their managers to make necessary decisions as fast as possible. Then, we will see a case study of how an efficient BI system is implemented in an organization and the impact of BI on this firm. And finally, we'll see the future and upcoming trends in this technology.
