The social mindfulness consists in the awareness of other people’s presence, whenever a subject takes decisions for him or herself. Previous studies, conducted at the Laboratory of Development and Socialization Psychology (DPSS), have suggested that the perception of the partner’s different social mindfulness levels has an effect on the perceptual bias known as FacingTheViewerBias, which consists in the tendency to perceive the Point Light Walkers moving in the direction of the observer. An increase in bias was specifically observed in the trial partecipants, while interacting both with a person who showed high levels of social mindfulness, and with a person showing low levels of social mindfulness. The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanisms that lead to bias increase, by implementing a condition of control, in which trial participants interact with a person, who shows neutral levels of social mindfulness.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanisms that lead to bias increase, by implementing a condition of control, in which trial participants interact with a person, who shows neutral levels of social mindfulness.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
