Electrification of vehicles, including agricultural machinery, is undergoing in an attempt to become carbon neutral to mitigate climate chance. Using natural resources in an efficient way will be increasingly important and electrification might be the best way to increase energy use efficiency in vehicles. In this work the possible impact and the benefits of agricultural machinery electrification have been analyzed, as long as some disadvantages. Different types of electrification have been considered and compared to conventional tractors performances. A description of all the electrified agricultural machinery ever presented has been created and some of them have been evaluated in terms of energy efficiency in their context of application. The outcome of this work is that agricultural machinery electrification is possible and has some benefits. It needs to be developed, as well as alternative fuels, but it shouldn’t be a priority in the agricultural sector.
L’elettrificazione dei veicoli, incluse le macchine agricole, è in atto nel tentativo di raggiungere la neutralità carbonica per mitigare il cambiamento climatico. Usare le risorse naturali in modo efficiente sarà sempre più importante in futuro e l’elettrificazione potrebbe essere un modo per aumentare l’efficienza d’uso dell’energia dei veicoli. In questo lavoro il possibile impatto e i benefici dell’elettrificazione delle macchine agricole sono stati analizzati, così come alcuni svantaggi. Sono stati considerate differenti tipologie di elettrificazione e sono state comparate con le prestazioni di trattori convenzionali. È stata creata una descrizione di tutti i modelli di macchine agricole elettrificate presentate fino ad oggi e alcune di esse sono state valutate in termini di efficienza energetica nel loro contesto di applicazione. I risultati di questo lavoro sono che l’elettrificazione delle macchine agricole è possibile e porta alcuni benefici. Dev’essere sviluppata, così come i combustibili alternativi, ma non dovrebbe essere una delle priorità nel settore agricolo.
