The present paper investigates young people's perceptions today of the future after experiencing the pandemic period. The aim is to enrich the present literature with updated and more specific data located in the post-pandemic time period and to assess whether and how the pandemic has affected in creating a specific imaginary of the future in minds. An introductory overview of the current situation is followed by a field study that aims to collect direct testimonies. The research was carried out by mixed method, a choice due to the need to achieve relevant and proven results. On the one hand, the qualitative method makes it possible to deepen awareness of the social phenomenon: perception of the future by collecting subjective evaluations of a small number of people; on the other hand, the quantitative brings together views from a large number of cases. The study is carried out on a non-representative sample of young people aged 23-29, attending the University of Padua. The semi-structured interview is aimed at five of them, 2 females and 3 males respectively, while the questionnaire involves a larger but still representative sample, so for convenience specific groups of young people were selected. The conclusions of my paper represent a comparison between existing literature on the topic in question and the results that arose in the study phase, with the ultimate goal of having a comprehensive view of what is the perception of today's youth of the future in an era defined as one of "uncertainty."

Abstract
The conclusions of my paper represent a comparison between existing literature on the topic in question and the results that arose in the study phase, with the ultimate goal of having a comprehensive view of what is the perception of today's youth of the future in an era defined as one of "uncertainty."File | Dimensione | Formato | |
