The the therapeutic alliance construct has been subject to countless redefinitions and studies. According to the most recent definitions, it is defined as the specific, collaborative relationship between patient and therapist. The alliance is therefore an interactive dimension referring to the ability of both components of the therapeutic dyad to build a relationship based on trust, cooperation and respect. This construct has gained significant relevance for the scientific community as it has been found to be one of the most determining factors for the therapeutic outcome and process. For this reason, it is of considerable importance, both in the clinical and research fields. Since the 1990s, the authors Safran and Muran have defined a new line of research concerning the study of ruptures and repairs of the therapeutic alliance, defining them as inevitable and necessary processes and therefore the basis of therapeutic work. Four studies are considered in this paper, analysing different aspects related to the rupture and repair events of the construct, in order to understand their different shades. These articles analyse the identification of ruptures with respect to the therapist's abilities (Talbot, et al., 2019), the identification of ruptures and repairs from a statistical point of view (Lipner, et al., 2022), the favourable factors for the positive resolution of such ruptures (David-Sela, 2021) and the most successful resolution strategies (Eubanks, et al., 2018). The construct and the events of rupture and repair are thus discussed from a clinical and empirical perspective, looking forward to an increasing integration of the two.

Abstract
The construct and the events of rupture and repair are thus discussed from a clinical and empirical perspective, looking forward to an increasing integration of the two.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
