Lo stile di attaccamento insicuro come fattore di rischio per lo sviluppo di una dipendenza

Attachment is the tendency humans have to form deep bonds with their caregivers and is critical to the survival of offspring. A correct response from the parent to the need for closeness allows the child to develop a secure attachment and positive Internal Operating Models, which will be a fundamental tool for interpreting relationships in adulthood. Addiction is a brain disorder caused by changes in its structures and functioning and can be from substances or behavioral, as in the case of love addiction. In this thesis we want to demonstrate that there is a causal link between a specific attachment style and the use of a specific substance or a specific behavioral addiction. The results of numerous studies demonstrate the existence of a link, but the literature on the topics covered remains scarce and therefore it is not possible to establish a cause-effect link with certainty as there could be further variables that influence the results of these studies.

L’attaccamento è la tendenza che gli esseri umani hanno di formare legami profondi con le figure che si prendono cura di loro nel corso della vita ed è fondamentale per la sopravvivenza della prole. Una corretta risposta da parte del genitore nei confronti del bisogno di vicinanza permette al bambino di sviluppare un attaccamento sicuro e dei Modelli Operativi Interni positivi, che saranno uno strumento fondamentale per l’interpretazione delle relazioni in età adulta. La dipendenza è un disturbo del cervello causato da modificazioni nelle sue strutture e nel suo funzionamento e può essere da sostanze o comportamentale, come nel caso della dipendenza affettiva. In questa tesi si vuole dimostrare che esiste un legame di tipo causale fra uno specifico stile di attaccamento e l’uso di una determinata sostanza o una specifica dipendenza comportamentale. I risultati dei numerosi studi dimostrano l’esistenza di un legame, ma la letteratura sui temi trattati rimane scarsa e dunque non è possibile stabilire con certezza un legame di tipo causa-effetto in quanto potrebbero esistere ulteriori variabili che influiscono sui risultati degli studi.
