The thesis entitled «Chico Buarque, singer-songwriter and cultural ambassador of Brazil. The musical adaptation of “O que será” in Italian” aims to analyse the Italian adaptation of the song “O que será”, written and sung by Chico Buarque in 1976. In fact, in this song, the author denounces the cruelty, suffered personally, of the military dictatorship in Brazil (1964-1985), and precisely because of his music he was forced into exile. The choice of this particular piece gives us insights to understand how the message of denunciation was then transformed, preserved or reinterpreted in the Italian version sung by Fiorella Mannoia in 1989.

Abstract
The thesis entitled «Chico Buarque, singer-songwriter and cultural ambassador of Brazil. The musical adaptation of “O que será” in Italian” aims to analyse the Italian adaptation of the song “O que será”, written and sung by Chico Buarque in 1976. In fact, in this song, the author denounces the cruelty, suffered personally, of the military dictatorship in Brazil (1964-1985), and precisely because of his music he was forced into exile. The choice of this particular piece gives us insights to understand how the message of denunciation was then transformed, preserved or reinterpreted in the Italian version sung by Fiorella Mannoia in 1989.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
