Translating for Children: Translation and Analysis of Nathan A. Jones's "Bogamus the Troll"

The present dissertation examines the topic of children's literature translation in order to present a translation proposal and analysis of selected chapters from Nathan A. Jones's "Bogamus the Troll." Children's translation is not as simple as it may appear and presents a unique set of challenges. The dissertation begins with an overview of children's literature and then focuses on its translation, including the unique challenges and strategies developed to translate children's literature. In the second section, a proposal for the Italian translation of two chapters from the novel "Bogamus the Troll" by Nathan A. Jones is presented. The third and final section of the dissertation is dedicated to an analysis and discussion of the difficulties encountered during the translation process, as well as the techniques and strategies adopted to overcome them.
