Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) play a crucial role in improving operational efficiency and overall performance within modern supply chain management. This thesis presents a comprehensive study of the implementation of NetSuite WMS, exploring the challenges and benefits associated with this option. All of the analysis and findings reported in this document are applicable to Nexody, a packaging items distribution company that is looking to implement the WMS module within its organization. The research begins with a review of the history of ERP and WMS highlighting all the characteristics that modern systems have. In addition to this we will see a study that explain how 55% of companies use excel for inventory management thus not taking advantages of integrated system that would allow, among other things, better conscience in decision making. The following chapters presents different implementation project tasks and their objectives: • Analysis of Nexody processes and warehouse management. • Study of the standard WMS software NetSuite to understand how it works. • Presentation of the results, classifying the customer’s requests as “FIT”, something that only requires a set-up activity, or “GAP”, something that requires a software customization. This is followed by a presentation of all the “TO-BE” results in terms of processes and warehouse management. • Project summary presentation, highlighting all project costs and payback period. This chapter also has a short subchapter concentrating on change management. • Analysis of possible future implementations as RFID The contribution of this thesis aim to help organizations to make informed decisions regarding WMS implementation. By understanding the challenges and best practices associated with WMS implementation, they can improve their operational efficiency, reduce costs, improve customer service, and gain a competitive advantage in the dynamic global marketplace.
