Breast implants have undergone considerable development, improving biomechanical and aesthetic properties. The first prostheses were made of rigid materials and less compatible with human tissues: capsular contractures were a common problem. Improvements in mechanical properties, due to texturing or the use of new materials, make them resistant and durable. Future perspectives include the use of advanced materials and techniques, such as scaffolds or tissue engineering, which allow better adaptation to human needs. These innovations promise a future where breast implants are safer and more customizable, improving quality of life and reducing complications.

Abstract
Breast implants have undergone considerable development, improving biomechanical and aesthetic properties. The first prostheses were made of rigid materials and less compatible with human tissues: capsular contractures were a common problem. Improvements in mechanical properties, due to texturing or the use of new materials, make them resistant and durable. Future perspectives include the use of advanced materials and techniques, such as scaffolds or tissue engineering, which allow better adaptation to human needs. These innovations promise a future where breast implants are safer and more customizable, improving quality of life and reducing complications.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
