Polyethylene pipes are used for their properties in a variety of applications, in particular for the transport of pressurized (gas, drinking and non-drinking water) and non-pressurized fluids, and for the protection of cables. To comply with current regulations and ensure the required chemical, physical, and mechanical properties, it is essential to control the quality of the pipes produced and the polyethylene granules used as raw material. The tests that are performed on the raw material and the finished product are: measurement of the melt flow index, determination of the density, measurement of the content of carbon black and its dispersion, oxidation induction time, and measurement of the content of polluting plastics (polypropylene) on recycled materials. Visual and dimensional controls are also carried out on the produced pipes, as well as tensile, shrinkage, and pressure tests.

Abstract
Visual and dimensional controls are also carried out on the produced pipes, as well as tensile, shrinkage, and pressure tests.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
