This dissertation seeks to delve into the intricate and multifaceted relationship between language and identity, specifically within the domain of plurilingualism. It explores how language may contribute to the formation and negotiation of personal and social identities, particularly among individuals who actively engage with multiple languages in their daily lives. By building on existing research that has already established a connection between language and identity, this study presents the findings of an extensive research project that involved interviewing a diverse range of individuals to gain personal insights into this complex topic. Through this rigorous investigation, the dissertation ultimately concludes that the relationship between language and identity may be far from being static, but rather a complex and dynamic construct, subject to the confluence of multiple factors including culture, social context, and ideology.
