Ultimo confine del mondo. La Patagonia nell'immaginario degli scrittori di viaggio contemporanei

This paper aims to identify the various facets of the symbolic capital of Patagonia and illustrates how the imagery of this land at the edge of the world develops over the centuries and in what forms it imposes itself in the travel narrative of the twentieth century. A brief excursus will expose the multiple mythopoetic values ​​that Patagonia has assumed over the centuries and subsequently how they will be taken up by contemporary Argentine and then European author.

Questo lavoro si propone di individuare le varie sfaccettature del capitale simbolico della Patagonia e illustra come l’immaginario, di questa terra ai confini del mondo, si sviluppa nei secoli e in che forme si impone nella narrativa di viaggio del ventesimo secolo. Un breve excursus esporrà i molteplici valori mitopoietici che assume nei secoli la Patagonia e successivamente come verranno ripresi da autori argentini e poi europei.
