La poetica del frammento in "Enfance" di Nathalie Sarraute

This thesis will focus on the theme of the fragment within "Enfance" by Nathalie Sarraute, with the aim of identifying where the fragment is present in the text. It can be found, in fact, not only in the form and structure of the text, both experimental, but also in its contents, since the author's life appears in turn "fragmented". The work consists of three chapters. In the first, the two "je" that dialogue in the text are analyzed, and how this affects reading and in the re-enactment of the author's childhood memories. In the second chapter, the contents of the text that respond to an idea of fragmentation are analyzed, while in the third chapter, the form and structure of the work are analyzed. In addition, this thesis investigates Nathalie Sarraute's choice to compose such an experimental autobiographical text, how and why it deviates from canonical autobiography, and the author's desire for indeterminacy.

Questa tesi verte sul tema del frammento all’interno di “Enfance” di Nathalie Sarraute, con lo scopo di individuare dove il frammento sia presente nel testo. Esso si ritrova, infatti, non solo nella sua forma e nella sua struttura, entrambe sperimentali, ma anche nei suoi contenuti, poiché la vita dell'autrice appare a sua volta "frammentata". Il lavoro si compone di tre capitoli. Nel primo vengono analizzati i due "je" che dialogano nel testo, e come questo influisca nella lettura e nella rievocazione dei ricordi d'infanzia dell'autrice. Nel secondo, vengono analizzati i contenuti del testo che rispondono ad un'idea di frammentazione, mentre nel terzo capitolo vengono analizzati la forma e la struttura dell'opera. Inoltre, in questa tesi si indaga la scelta da parte di Nathalie Sarraute di comporre un testo autobiografico così sperimentale, di come e perché questo si discosti dall’autobiografia canonica, e il desiderio di indeterminatezza dell'autrice.
