Alla scoperta del romanzo giallo. Una lettura di "La donna della domenica" di Fruttero & Lucentini

Within this work I will analyse and describe the history, the mechanisms, the structure and the characters that make up the detective novel. By outlining on the research, two macro sections can be identified: The first part will focus on the history and development of the genre. We will start from the origins with Edgar A. Poe, to Arthur Conan Doyle, passing successively between Agatha Christie and George Simenon, without forgetting some important American models such as Chandler, Stout, Spillane, Van Dine, Ellery Queen, up to Italy and chronologically more recent contemporaneity. In the second part there will be a careful reading of La donna della Domenica (1972) by C. Fruttero & F. Lucentini. This textual, critical and comparative analysis will aim to highlight and develop all the topoi that compose and structure this literary genre.

All’interno di questo lavoro analizzerò e descriverò la storia, i meccanismi, la struttura e i personaggi che compongono il romanzo giallo. Delineando sull’argomento di ricerca uno schema introduttivo, si potranno individuare due macro sezioni: La prima parte verterà sulla storia e lo sviluppo del genere. Si partirà dalle origini con Edgar A. Poe, ad Arthur Conan Doyle passando successivamente tra Agatha Christie e George Simenon, senza dimenticare alcuni importanti modelli americani come Chandler, Stout, Spillane, Van Dine, Ellery Queen, fino ad arrivare in Italia e cronologicamente alla contemporaneità più recente. Nella seconda parte si svolgerà una attenta lettura di La donna della domenica (1972) di C. Fruttero & F. Lucentini. Questa analisi testuale, critica e di confronto si proporrà di evidenziare e sviluppare tutti i topoi che compongono e strutturano tale genere letterario.
