This thesis is concerned on an unpublished hoard, from the second half of the 3rd millennium B.C., with bronze, faience, and semi-precious stone objects discovered in Mohenjo-daro, Pakistan. The city was excavated extensively from the 1920s and excavations then resumed at other times until in the early 1980s, with a joint German-Italian mission initiated an extensive project to investigate the original surfaces and architecture exposed by the excavations, applying new, less invasive, research methodologies. The hoard, identified on the surface, was excavated with stratigraphic care, but was never published. Starting with the original documentation compiled by M. Tosi and the stratigraphy by G. Leonardi, this thesis publishes all the excavation data and summarizes the evidence regarding the deposition mode of the contained objects.

Abstract
Leonardi, this thesis publishes all the excavation data and summarizes the evidence regarding the deposition mode of the contained objects.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
