The current thesis aims to explore the fundamental role of Virtual Reality (VR) in managing work-related stress, focusing on theoretical aspects and intervention areas. The first chapter outlines the concept of work-related stress, analyzing how it is triggered by organizational distress and introducing virtual reality as an innovative tool to address these issues, delineating the unique characteristics of interventions. The second chapter delves into the use of virtual reality as a preventive and therapeutic tool in addressing burnout in the workplace. Through empirical cases, the positive effects of VR in improving the well-being of workers are examined, reducing symptoms of professional exhaustion, and enhancing psychological resources. In the third chapter, the analysis extends towards the future, exploring imminent developments in virtual reality for managing work-related stress. Potential improvements in the application of this technology are examined, and possible applications of VR in Italian work contexts are discussed. The objective is to paint a comprehensive picture of the potential of virtual reality as an effective tool in stress management within professional settings, contributing to the formulation of innovative strategies for organizational well-being.
La presente tesi si propone di esplorare il ruolo fondamentale della realtà virtuale (RV) nella gestione dello stress lavoro-correlato, concentrandosi sugli aspetti teorici e gli ambiti d'intervento. Nel primo capitolo si delinea il concetto di stress correlato al lavoro, analizzando come questo sia provocato da disagio organizzativo e introducendo la realtà virtuale come strumento innovativo nel fronteggiare tali problematiche, delineandone le caratteristiche peculiari degli interventi. Il secondo capitolo approfondisce l'utilizzo della realtà virtuale come strumento preventivo e terapeutico nei confronti del burnout in ambito lavorativo. Attraverso casi empirici, vengono esaminati gli effetti positivi della RV nel migliorare il benessere dei lavoratori, riducendo i sintomi di esaurimento professionale e potenziando le risorse psicologiche. Nel terzo capitolo, l'analisi si proietta verso il futuro, esplorando gli sviluppi imminenti della realtà virtuale nella gestione dello stress lavoro-correlato. Si esaminano eventuali prospettive di miglioramento applicativo di tale tecnologia e si discutono i possibili risvolti applicativi della RV nei contesti lavorativi italiani. L'obiettivo è tracciare un quadro completo delle potenzialità della realtà virtuale come strumento efficace nella nella gestione dello stress nei contesti professionali, contribuendo così alla formulazione di strategie innovative per il benessere organizzativo.
