Surname and first name graduating student: Pozzobon Veronica Thesis title: Biodiversity: a precious resource at risk. A didactic research to introduce the scientific concept of biodiversity in primary school. Degree course: Primary Education Sciences First supervisor: Santovito Gianfranco Second supervisor: - The thesis illustrates the didactic research of an experimental type carried out in the fourth class of the "Ugo Foscolo" primary school in San Gaetano (TV), the aim of which was to introduce the scientific concept of biodiversity in primary schools through laboratory methodology. The experiment involved the entire class, which was divided, based on the results of the pre-test, into the control group, followed by the class teacher Daniela Menegon, and the experimental group, followed by me. The research work provided positive answers to the following hypotheses: the possibility of dealing with the subject of biodiversity in primary school, the effectiveness of using an active methodology and laboratory teaching to deal with the subject of biodiversity and to arouse interest and curiosity in science. In addition, it was examined whether the interest developed by the pupils also influenced that of their parents. In addition, a questionnaire was administered to the science teachers and one to the primary school parents, with the aim of investigating their thinking in the area of science didactics. The theoretical framework, of a scientific and didactic/methodological nature, was based on the consultation of websites, articles, books and essays on the topic of biodiversity, on school documentation, as well as on current legislation on the subject.
