This paper provides an in-depth overview of the Agenda 2030, exploring the temporal context, the adoption process, and the involved stakeholders. The objectives, inspirational values, reference approach, and fundamental principles of the Agenda are analysed. Special attention is dedicated to Goal 4, highlighting the central role of education as a tool for empowerment, with a focus on gender issues through Target 4.7. New educational approaches are explored in relation to the ideals of Agenda 2030. The focus then shifts to young delegates at the United Nations, namely Annarita Napolitano and Giacomo di Capua for Italy, and Giulia Tariello and Lukas Svana for the European Union, examining their role and mandate as young ambassadors at the United Nations. Through their testimonies, an investigation is conducted to determine if Goal 4 was a subject of discussion and scrutiny during the seventy-eighth General Assembly of the United Nations. This inquiry aims to highlight not only the importance attributed to education as a tool for social transformation but also to understand to what extent young individuals have concretely contributed to shaping the discourse and actions undertaken to achieve sustainable development goals in the educational realm. Education holds a central position in the realm of human rights, serving not only as a fundamental realization of these rights but also as a strategic means to safeguard others. It facilitates a gradual process that recognizes the potential development of individuals, enabling them to become engaged participants in society while strengthening feelings of dignity, respect, self-efficacy, and self-determination. Creating a culture of sustainability is essential to educate the new generations and professionals capable of finding concrete paths and solutions for a fairer, just, and resilient society and a more sustainable planet.
