The following research aims to first explore the deficits underlying specific learning disorders before subsequently focusing on the relationship between phonological memory and reading ability, specifically how it predicts dyslexia. The research is divided into a bibliographic part for the analysis of components of specific learning disorders (SLD), followed by a data analysis comparing groups of typically developing readers and non-readers concerning phonological memory (measured through a digit memory test), reading ability (measured through scores in word and non-word reading), and fluid reasoning (measured through the Cattell test). This analysis will yield a statistically significant correlation power (0.60) through group comparisons using Cohen's D.

Abstract
The following research aims to first explore the deficits underlying specific learning disorders before subsequently focusing on the relationship between phonological memory and reading ability, specifically how it predicts dyslexia. The research is divided into a bibliographic part for the analysis of components of specific learning disorders (SLD), followed by a data analysis comparing groups of typically developing readers and non-readers concerning phonological memory (measured through a digit memory test), reading ability (measured through scores in word and non-word reading), and fluid reasoning (measured through the Cattell test). This analysis will yield a statistically significant correlation power (0.60) through group comparisons using Cohen's D.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
