Il sessismo linguistico nella lingua italiana e spagnola e la sua influenza nei media

The topic around which the research revolves is linguistic sexism, a topic that is certainly very current and important. So many people when I communicated the title of the thesis paper asked me what linguistic sexism was, this surely convinced me even more to deal with the topic that is so current and so little known. As you can see in the title, the thesis will be written in two languages: Italian and Spanish. I decided to deal with part of the thesis in Spanish because I lived several years in Spain and surely one of my dreams is to move to this country; therefore, I wanted to consider this topic in the two languages: Italian and Spanish. Before I started writing this thesis, I did not think that so many forms of sexism existed within society, I was limited to hearing the usual sayings from my childhood and focusing only on the stereotypes present and somehow accenting them. Sexism is a phenomenon that encompasses so many facets within it is also characterized by different attitudes, behaviors and prejudices that are based on gender. There are mainly two manifestations of sexism, individual sexism which is manifested through attitudes and beliefs this occurs for example when a woman is told that she is unable to do certain jobs or undertake certain roles. Within the third chapter, language sexism in the media, both social and TV programs in both languages, will be discussed.

L’argomento attorno al quale verte la ricerca è il sessismo linguistico, un tema sicuramente molto attuale e importante. Tante persone quando ho comunicato il titolo dell’elaborato della tesi mi hanno chiesto che cosa fosse il sessismo linguistico, questo sicuramente mi convinse ancora di più a trattare l’argomento così attuale e così poco conosciuto. Come si può vedere nel titolo la tesi verrà scritta in due lingue: Italiano e Spagnolo. Ho deciso di trattare parte della tesi in spagnolo perché ho vissuto diversi anni in Spagna e sicuramente uno dei miei sogni è trasferirmi in questo paese; quindi, ho voluto prendere in considerazione questa tematica nelle due lingue: Italiano e Spagnolo. Prima di iniziare a scrivere questa tesi non pensavo che esistessero così tante forme di sessismo all’interno della società, mi limitavo a sentire i soliti proverbi sin da piccola e focalizzandomi solo sugli stereotipi presenti e in qualche modo accentandoli. Il sessismo è un fenomeno che racchiude tantissime sfaccettature al suo interno è anche caratterizzato da diversi atteggiamenti, comportamenti e pregiudizi che sono basati sul genere. Esistono principalmente due manifestazioni di sessismo, il sessismo individuale che si manifesta attraverso atteggiamenti e credenze questo avviene ad esempio quando ad una donna viene detto che non è in grado di svolgere certi lavori o di intraprendere certi ruoli. All'interno del terzo capitolo verrà trattato il sessismo linguistico nei media, sia nei social che nei programmi televisivi in entrambe le lingue.
