The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) will be the largest liquid scintillator- based neutrino detector ever constructed. Thanks to its very large active mass (20 kton) and competitive performances (3% effective energy resolution at 1 MeV), it will be able to perform important measurements in neutrino physics. JUNO employs an organic liquid scintillator as the target for the neutrino interactions, and the main detection technique is to measure the light produced by de-excitation of the liquid scintillator. To validate the performances of the final liquid scintillator recipe that will be used in JUNO, a dedicated test beam measurement was set up at the Legnaro National Laboratories (INFN). This thesis work focuses on the study of the response of the final JUNO liquid scintillator recipe to neutrons and gammas and aims at investigating its energy non linearities.

Abstract
This thesis work focuses on the study of the response of the final JUNO liquid scintillator recipe to neutrons and gammas and aims at investigating its energy non linearities.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
