Borderline Personality Organization (BPO) presents a complex challenge for psychiatry and psychotherapy due to its multifactorial nature and the dysfunctional relational dynamics it entails. This study aims to examine the role of mental imagery as therapeutic tools in the processing of relational traumas, such as abuse, prolonged absence of the maternal figure, and neglect. Therapeutic techniques such as Imagery Rescripting and Schema Therapy will be examined for their contribution to the treatment of individuals with Borderline Personality Organization. The thesis concludes with a critical discussion of the results obtained, the limitations of current research, and potential future directions to improve clinical practice.
