Quadrato Motor Training (QMT) is a non-aerobic sensorimotor training technique that requires high levels of coordination and continuous monitoring of the internal and external environment, whose action has been shown to enhance different areas of human cognition. The following paper provides a collection of the effects of QMT, on creativity, spatial cognition, temporal perception and attention, focusing on the methods used to investigate the cognitive functions mentioned. Through the different techniques used in cognitive psychology it is possible to investigate the intricate mental processes that allow perception, processing and interaction between man and his surrounding environment. Thanks to the collection of the results of the studies we can affirm that QMT has significant effects on fluency, flexibility and ideational originality. Furthermore, an increase in reflexivity and familiarity with the surrounding spatial context has been observed. QMT improves precision and length in the production of specific temporal targets and extends sustained attention. These results are associated with functional changes such as increased coherence in alpha, theta and gamma waves and structural modifications of the white matter especially in the cerebellum and frontal lobe. These results have been found in different genders and populations. In conclusion, QMT emerges as a promising technique with potential applications in educational and neuro-rehabilitation contexts. Further investigating the long-term effects and neurophysiological mechanisms involved in the use of the technique will confirm and expand the knowledge of it and promote a better understanding of psychology and the human brain.

Abstract
Further investigating the long-term effects and neurophysiological mechanisms involved in the use of the technique will confirm and expand the knowledge of it and promote a better understanding of psychology and the human brain.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
