Numerous studies have been interested in identifying the possible interference and facilitation effects that exist between numerical tasks and manual actions. The plausibility of these effects is given by the proximity of the neural areas involved in numerical processes and sensorimotor processes. The study proposed here takes into consideration the effect given by the combination of a specific numerical task, that of determining the size of a number (Magnitude) and two manual actions: Grasping and Pointing. The study involved the execution of the two manual tasks, in distinct blocks, followed by the performance of the numerical task. The participants' responses to the numerical task were verbal and both the response (correct/incorrect) and the reaction time were recorded. In line with the literature, the results of the analysis showed a significant interaction between Action and Numerical Distance.

Abstract
In line with the literature, the results of the analysis showed a significant interaction between Action and Numerical Distance.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
