Is it possible to explain anxiety in a way that is understandable to everyone? Perhaps a cartoon can be the key to represent, through another person's life, what most of the population feels. This explains the reason of the sequel to Inside Out, a highly successful Pixar animated film first released in 2015. The purpose of this discussion is to trace the journey of Anxiety, the new star emotion in Riley's mind, from its entrance to the moment it made her hit the bottom. Favored by a series of precursors, which characterize adolescent development, there comes a time when Anxiety makes its way into the protagonist's life. Its task is to show Riley, as well as every person, all the possible pitfalls behind a given situation, planning the future so that she can suffer as little as possible. This presumes the activation of a series of neural circuits, both for the adolescent and the adult, to which specific behaviors correspond. Riley’s case best encapsulates some sides of social anxiety. Representing a significant and widespread component of it among adolescents, understanding the cognitive model of social anxiety (by Clark and Wells) can help unravel the vicious rush of thoughts that animates it. Aiming to lighten the emotional load of the topic, the following dissertation offers an examination of each point listed above, keeping the parallels with Riley's curious life constant.

Abstract
Aiming to lighten the emotional load of the topic, the following dissertation offers an examination of each point listed above, keeping the parallels with Riley's curious life constant.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
