L’integrazione sociale delle persone homeless nei programmi Housing First

Poverty is a growing phenomenon in our society, and with it homelessness, reaching 0.8 percent of the Italian population in 2021. The mode of intervention that has been spreading since the 1990s in the Western world is Housing First. This paper aims to analyze, referring to the scientific literature on the subject, how social integration is promoted in Housing First programs and what are its effects in reintegration into the community. On this basis, taking some positive cases as examples, it investigates what aspects need to be consolidated for greater effectiveness of the programs.

Nella nostra società la povertà è un fenomeno in aumento, e con questo il fenomeno homelessness, che nel 2021 raggiunge lo 0,8 per cento della popolazione italiana. La modalità di intervento che si sta diffondendo a partire dagli anni 90 nel mondo occidentale è quella dell’Housing First. Questo elaborato si pone l’obiettivo di analizzare, facendo riferimento alla letteratura scientifica sul tema, come viene promossa l’integrazione sociale nei programmi Housing First e quali sono i suoi effetti nel reinserimento nella comunità. Su questa base, prendendo come esempi alcuni casi positivi, si indaga quali aspetti è necessario consolidare per una maggior efficacia dei programmi.
