Bilingualism and biculturalism are intertwined, especially when it comes to language and culture. By outlining the characteristics of whom may consider himself/herself bilingual or bicultural, I decided to conduct a study on the case of second generation migrants, who may experience bilingualism and biculturalism in a very different way. The main aim of this dissertation is to give a general overview of the previously mentioned phenomenon, highlighting their positive and negative aspects. Firstly, I will explain the processes that lead to such conditions, by a social, cognitive and personal point of view. Furthermore, I will explore the different patterns of identity and the advantages of being bilingual and bicultural. Finally, I will conclude with the analysis of the data collected by a questionnaire and interviews to second generation migrants.

Abstract
Finally, I will conclude with the analysis of the data collected by a questionnaire and interviews to second generation migrants.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
